Amazon Alexa Skill: Dance Music

Ask Alexa to play music tracks that are ideal for dancing!  These are original songs that are easy to choreograph, dance to, and most importantly, fun!

Ideal for dance studios, dance conventions, dance competitions and parties. Great for warming up dancers at the beginning of classes. These songs are designed with dance instructors, choreographers and dancers in mind.

Most songs are 100 – 120 BPM (beats per minute), key of C-major, and 4/4 time. Most dance segments and breaks are 8 bars in length. Most songs are competition-length, i.e. between two minutes and thirty five seconds and three minutes in length. Most songs also feature a count-in and occasionally an outro.

A new song is added every now and then. Check this description for updates.

Song 7: Baby Jays (added Jan. 22, 2019)

120 BPM, 2 min. 24 seconds, C-Major, 4/4, J-Sette

Ultimately, this is a majorette marching song.

While this song is not worthy, this J-Sette-themed song is dedicated to the Jackson State University (JSU) Prancing J-Settes, the San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztec Diamonds, clubbers who enjoy J-Setting, and all of the J-Setting troupes who march in parades and and compete at LGBTQ+ cultural events.

Lala’s daughter, Oksana, was an Aztec Diamond.

This recent Youtube video by The Great Big Story provides a brief documentary about the JSU Prancing J-Settes. (November 20, 2018).
